Suitable employees wanted? Find them with semantic techniques

چکیده
More and more companies are going to use Internet for their job procurement process, i.e. to search for job seekers and publish open positions. However, common search techniques based on classical keyword search fail to match job seekers with job offers since particular (over-constraint) queries return no answers and search engines are unable to semantically relax such queries. In this paper we briefly describe an approach where explicitly defined rewriting rules are used to reformulate the query in a controlled way and explain the architecture of our job portal extension giving an impression about the relaxation process.

Use of Semantic Similarity and Web Usage Mining to Alleviate the Drawbacks of User-Based Collaborative Filtering Recommender Systems
One of the most famous methods for recommendation is user-based Collaborative Filtering (CF). This system compares active user’s items rating with historical rating records of other users to find similar users and recommending items which seems interesting to these similar users and have not been rated by the active user. As a way of computing recommendations, the ultimate goal of the user-ba...
متن کاملInformation Retrieval (IR) through Semantic Web (SW): An Overview
A large amount of data is present on the web. It contains huge number of web pages and to find suitable information from them is very cumbersome task. There is need to organize data in formal manner so that user can easily access and use them. To retrieve information from documents, we have many Information Retrieval (IR) techniques. Current IR techniques are not so advanced that they can be ab...
متن کاملA Solution to View Management to Build a Data Warehouse
Several techniques exist to select and materialize a proper set of data in a suitable structure that manage the queries submitted to the online analytical processing systems. These techniques are called view management techniques, which consist of three research areas: 1) view selection to materialize, 2) query processing and rewriting using the materialized views, and 3) maintaining materializ...
متن کاملIssues In Synchronizing The English Treebank And PropBank
The PropBank primarily adds semantic role labels to the syntactic constituents in the parsed trees of the Treebank. The goal is for automatic semantic role labeling to be able to use the domain of locality of a predicate in order to find its arguments. In principle, this is exactly what is wanted, but in practice the PropBank annotators often make choices that do not actually conform to the Tre...
متن کاملPORSCHE: Performance ORiented SCHEma Matching
Semantic matching of schemas in heterogeneous data sharing systems is time consuming and error prone. Existing mapping tools employ semi-automatic techniques for mapping two schemas at a time. In a large-scale scenario, where data sharing involves a large number of data sources, such techniques are not suitable. In this paper we present a method, which creates a mediated schema tree from a larg...
